Musical Party at Mayfield

A ghost, a devil and Jean Harlow too - a celebration of young classical musicians

Musical Party At Mayfield
15 October 2022, 7.30pm Mayfield School, Concert Hall £15 (Under-30s half price) Book now

Join the Mayfield Festival as it presents a celebration of young classical musicians in Mayfield School Concert Hall on Saturday the 15th of October, starting at 7.30pm.

The performing artists were all finalists at this year’s Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition so this is another great opportunity to experience a live performance by these very talented young musicians who are in the early stages of their professional careers and who are on track to become the stars of the future.  The repertoire for the night includes works by such titans of classical composition as Bach, Beethoven, Liszt and Tchaikovsky and the second half of the concert will start with a ghost, end with a devil and also feature Jean Harlow!

The performers who will be taking the audience on this aural journey are:

  • Stefan Bulyha, a Ukrainian clarinet player who is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music;
  • Sofiia Matviienko, a Ukrainian flautist who is also studying at the Royal Academy of Music;
  • Alicja Pustula, a Polish violinist who studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University in Warsaw.
  • Richard Scholfield, a Scottish saxophonist whose music weaves together tradition and innovation and who has previously performed in Mayfield at the Concert of All The Talents in 2021;
  • Tabea Streicher, a German pianist who holds a scholarship at the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein; and
  • Adèle Théveneau, a French cellist who studied at the National Conservatory in Paris.
