Starting with a procession featuring the Green Man, the Mayfield Band, Ashdown Forest Morris Men, Mummers, and children from local schools, the fair is a festival of dancing and live music from local performers, all set against the timeless backdrop of the beautiful Mayfield High Street. It is a riot of sound and colour, and you can join in the attempt to beat the village’s unofficial record for the biggest maypole dance in the country.
